Winos and the homeless situation in America

an installation at Show N Tell Gallery, San Francisco 1993

99 Bottles on the wall , on the wall...

Part of the installation  at the Show n Tell gallery was a wine tasting featuring thunderbird wine, a favorite of street people for its high level of alcohol and low price. More bang for your buck.  Only about 6 or 7 bottles were consumed at the opening. That was after all the beer ran out. Thunderbird  is an acquired taste savored at street level.

This "carriage" was designed to transport one who could no longer walk .  It had a handle which was very difficult to hold and the entire process of caring for someone drunk was cumbersome.  Just as in "real life".
