WINTER INSTALLATION |

Winter takes over the city of San Francisco in the form of 21 snowmen on the winter solstice in 1983 . It was a military / style occupation . NO , I didn't get permission. War is War. All main access routes were covered - both bridges, the ocean highway, city hall , the power stations, the highest vantage points and the underground (skid row). Most of the "snowmen" were stolen (kidnapped perhaps ?) If anyone knows the whereabouts of one please e-mail me at wz@waynz.com |

Rev Cecil Williams of Glide Memorial Church created wino park on 6th st. in San Francisco. Bless you Cecil . For some reason that I don't know, the snowman with the smallest head ended up there. He looked good! |

One
snowman was "arrested" on National Parklands by
ranger
Jim Milestone. I guess he figured it was a mild form of protest and charges were not pressed. The snowman was removed and we promised no more would go on National Parkland....but all is fair in love and war. Of course we put out more. We had 21 of these things. |
