Public Speaking 1984

was part of Sculpture Chicago 84.

It was a fully functional totally acoustic megaphone and band shell which rotated 180 degrees.

 The people of Chicago could speak and yell through this device to express themselves...and they did.

 materials: wood steel and concrete

The megapone was 6 feet in diameter by 12 feet long, welded steel, wood and concrete

It was built entirely on site for public viewing as part of a gentrification project at Dearborn Station.

The dog is real;Her name was Silo, thanks Dan Yarlborough.
