There was an abandoned site next to the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery. The building was missing.  It was so still.  This gap made me think  about how all the manufacturing companies were leaving the country.  I designed the installation to look completely abandoned in the daytime and then magically come alive at night through light and sound.  We used simple road flares and very lo-tech equipment. It was an homage to another time.  There were two lightings of the work.  A  flare crew performed the maintenance of keeping them lit.
